UNIFI Autism Care Opens Innovative Treatment Center in Evansville
The autism center is the first of four 2025 openings in Indiana, with the capacity to serve up to 95 patients in an underserved area
UNIFI Autism Care opened its first autism care center located at 1004 W. Illinois St. in Evansville, Indiana, celebrating an official grand opening on April 15. The 15,226-square-foot facility – now open and serving families – marks a significant step forward in UNIFI’s mission to redefine how behavioral therapy is delivered to children with autism.
Unlike traditional providers that focus solely on diagnosis-related behaviors, UNIFI takes a whole-child approach — coordinating care across healthcare professionals, psychologists, teachers, therapists and caregivers to support every aspect of a child’s development.
The Evansville facility offers the following services:
- Behavior Analysis: Individualized, evidence-based interventions to teach essential life skills, reduce challenging behaviors and drive meaningful progress.
- Life-FIT (Family Interaction Training): A 12-week, family-mediated program led by a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) that strengthens family bonds and promotes positive interactions through therapeutic strategies.
- Diagnostics: Comprehensive evaluations by a licensed psychologist to enable early detection and personalized treatment planning.
“This is more than a therapy center. It’s a place where children with autism are empowered to thrive,” said Dr. Breanne Hartley, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA, president and chief clinical officer of UNIFI Autism Care. “We believe the sky’s the limit for these children and everything about our Evansville facility reflects that. We’re going to help them reach their greatest potential.”
The center has the capacity to serve up to 95 full-time children for therapy and welcomes families into a warm, uplifting environment with an “out of this world” theme – featuring images of rockets, astronauts and planets throughout the space to inspire imagination and confidence.
There are several ways families can begin the care journey with UNIFI. Individuals can call 888-717-5835 to speak with a care navigator or send an email with their contact information to [email protected]. Provider referrals can be faxed to 317-708-4301.
Hartley, along with Steven Merahn, MD, FAAP, chief medical officer lead a clinician owned and operated multidisciplinary team of nearly 30 individuals including eight BCBAs, 10 behavior technicians and 10 corporate/support staff.
UNIFI plans to expand its presence in Indiana with three new centers opening in Broad Ripple in late April, as well as South Bend/Mishawaka in May and Bloomington in September.
“These new locations will further UNIFI’s commitment to accessible, holistic autism care throughout the state,” added Hartley.
The organization is currently hiring BCBAs, registered behavior therapists and behavior technicians for all four centers. To view open positions and submit a resume, please visit unifiautism.com/careers.
