Our comprehensive, personalized approach to autism care centers around your child and family. We’ll work with you to understand your child’s abilities and needs, as well as set goals tailored to your child’s health and your family’s aspirations.
An Integrated Approach
Through our “whole-child” model, we offer naturalistic behavioral interventions that foster a child’s developmental progress and well-being.
Here’s how it works:
We’ll assign you a care navigator. The care navigator will be your primary point of contact, providing expert guidance and a seamless, centralized experience.
We’ll begin a detailed discovery phase, during which we’ll invest time in understanding your child’s unique needs and family dynamics.
Following this, our clinicians will conduct a thorough assessment to tailor our approach to your child’s development.
We’ll create an individualized treatment plan, emphasizing opportunities for interventions and experiences that support the patient’s overarching care goals.
We’ll break the treatment plan into six-month cycles to continuously adjust and improve. Parents and caregivers are actively involved every step of the way.
The Assessment Phase
At UNIFI, we integrate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy into the broader healthcare system to address each child’s complex and intersecting needs. This approach is grounded in a comprehensive assessment, which usually takes place during 2-3 sessions over the course of 1-2 weeks.
During this phase, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will:
- Review your child’s medical records and history.
- Observe your child in a clinical setting.
- Conduct an evidence-based evaluation of current abilities.
- Discuss your family’s goals, priorities, and concerns.
The Treatment Plan
After completing the evaluation, our team will collaborate with you, your family, and other members of your child’s professional health resource community to develop your child’s treatment plan.
This plan will outline:
- Long-term goals based on your vision for your child.
- Specific six-month objectives that build crucial communication, social, and life skills.
- A schedule that maps out the frequency and format of therapy sessions.
- Additional ways for you to support your child’s development at home.
Before moving forward, we’ll walk through the plan together and ensure you understand and agree with our direction before moving forward. Our goal is complete alignment between our team and your family!
